There is no timeline, no automatic zoom and no cursor treatment. If your deliverable is a polished demo rather than a screenshot, the two are not really in the same category.

Before any feature matters, the application has to start. Teams are rarely all on one platform, and a tool half the team cannot open produces recordings that do not match.

What comes out, and how long it takes
Export is where a quick edit turns into a slow afternoon. Resolution and frame rate set the ceiling; whether the render uses the GPU decides whether a ten-minute 4K piece is a coffee break or a lunch break.

MP4 and GIF, up to 4K, at 24, 30, 60 or 120 fps, GPU-accelerated. Six aspect ratios cover YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, X, LinkedIn and Facebook alongside the source dimensions, so a 16:9 demo becomes a 9:16 clip without reframing by hand.

When to choose KlipKap Pro
A capture tool has no motion to tune
CleanShot X is the best capture utility on the Mac and it is not a video production tool: no automatic zoom, no timeline, no cursor motion work. The engines are not in the same category, so this is not a question of whose motion is better but of whether you need motion at all. If the output is a screenshot, an annotation or a five-second clip, CleanShot X is faster and you do not need what KlipKap Pro's engine does.

Anything that needs zooms, captions or clean audio is outside what a capture utility does.
